Mother and daughter found dead in Zografou - Foul play suspected

These are two women (a mother and daughter) in advanced decomposition who were found inside their apartment and in fact the door was sealed with construction materials, according to information with putty.

A forensic expert is at the scene while police have cordoned off the area and are also seeking testimonies from residents of the area.

Initial indications lead to the conclusion of a double murder, but without being clearly indicated by the authorities.

In a more recent development, a short while ago, police officers brought in a man who is allegedly involved in concealing the death of the two women and then sealed the door of their house in Zografou.

This is the son of the family who is facing serious psychiatric problems.

The police cannot say for sure whether the victims were murdered or died of pathological causes and are awaiting the results of the forensic examination in order to have a clear picture.

According to information, the son does not say anything to the police, he only answers that he does not know anything.

The son, according to the same information, was arrested for serial homicide, according to the prosecutor's order.

How authorities arrived at the house in Zografou 

It all started when on 26/03, relatives of the two women, mother and daughter, who had been missing for months, came to the Zografou Police Station.

They expressed suspicions that the women's son and brother may have harmed them, but they did not wish to submit an official statement.

Subsequently, the closest relatives, residents of the province, were asked to testify at the local police stations.

On 27/3, two of the mother's brothers testified.

On 29/03, a group of police officers went to the apartment in Zografou where the son and brother opened the door, but did not allow the EL.AS men to enter, while he allegedly said that his mother and sister live in another house.

The police officers, due to suspicion of a life-threatening situation, went to the house indicated by the son with a lock, opened it and entered. It was then determined that the apartment was abandoned.

They then returned to the house where the son of the family was in Zografou, where they found the macabre discovery.

While during the inspection of the apartment all areas were in normal condition, in one room the door was sealed with putty.

During the home search, after breaking the seal, the missing women were found in the room in advanced decomposition.
