Luxury real estate on Mykonos changing hands

More and more of the rich and famous sell their property at the world famous Cycladic island of Mykonos.

The crisis has hit the real estate sector of the island, which-each year- attracts personalities from all over the world.

It seems that the financial crisis and the harsh taxes imposed on property have forced even wealthy Greeks to let their “dream houses” go. More and more famous entrepreneurs, artists and show-biz personalities sell their Mykonos island properties.

Real estate in Greece has been on a dire situation, with more houses being for sale than ever before, with their retail values dropping dramatically. In Mykonos however, the real estate market follows its “own” pace. Properties are sold, but definitely not in low values, but rather in values that seem surreal for the country.

Antonis Lymberis, famous Greek publisher, is selling his two houses in Mykonos for 5 million euros. These houses are 800 and 500 square meters respectively and are located in Houlakia.

TV presenter, Roula Koromila recently sold her wonderful house for 2.5 million euros. Her house is located in Diakoftis, and offers a panoramic view over Agios Giannis beach all the way to Delos island. The new owner of Koromila's house, is said to be a Greek banker with business in Panama, named Antonis Takis.

A new owner, from Lebanon, now enjoys the villa of Aliki Livanou. The new owner, a businessman, who visits Mykonos every summer, now has his own 600 square meter property on the island, located in Paradeisia.

Do you remember the houses that the Kardashians lived when they visited the island?

Well they are for sale to whoever wishes to pay 3 million euros. The “Mykonos Retreat” complex, as it is called, has three houses, a private beach, a small church as well as a heliport.

Titos Vassilopoulos also bought a ten bedroom house, belonging to businessman, Nikos Vogiatzogou. Not to forget, British hairdresser and owner of the chain “Charles Worthington” bought the villa of TV presenter and former editor, Petros Kostopoulos, for 5.5 million euros.

Mykonos has always been the island of all extremes and once again its real estate market proves that!
