Leading parties trapped under 20% as "The River" swells

The new poll, by ALCO, published in Proto Thema shows a very nebulous political background, as the two leading parties are trapped in the under 20% bracket.
New Democracy and SYRIZA are trapped under 20% with the difference between them hovering within the limits of statistical error, while newly emergent “The River” party has displaced Golden Dawn from third place, drawing supporters from the whole political spectrum.
The results are causing nervousness and anxiety among the staff at New Democracy and SYRIZA. At the governing party they are gaining some relief from the fact that the main opposition is seen as having failed to capitalize on its earlier gains and on the popular discontent with government austerity policies.
They are more worried about the losses coalition partner PASOK will incur from The River, with being worried that the nascent party of journalist Stavros theodorakiswill also detract voters from New Democracy.Στην Κουμουνδούρου οι δημοσκοπήσεις δεν συντελούν επουδενί στην ενίσχυση της εικόνας ενός κόμματος με ασφαλές ρεύμα κυβερνησιμότητας και προκαλούν εύλογη ανησυχία.
The percentage of respondents dissatisfied with the stance of SYRIZA stands at 72% almost equaling displeasure for the government at 74%.
More specifically, the poll shows voter preference at 18% for New democracy as against 19.1% for SYRIZA, 5.15% for PASOK (Elia), 4.5% for ANEL, 6.9% for Golden Dawn, 2.2% for DIMAR, 5% for KKE, 1.4% for ANTARSYA, and 8.8% for The River.
Of respondents, 35% see Antonis Samaras as more fir for PM, while 28% opt for Alexis Tsipras, while 32% think neither is suitable.
Meanwhile a poll by MRB for Sunday's real News showed incumbent Athens mayor Giorgos Kaminis steadily leading the pack for the municipality's leadership with 21.9%, while Aris Spiliotopoulos (14.9%) and Gavriel Sakellaridis (13.6%) are improving their ratings.
