- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The 11th Thessaloniki Book Fair (TBF), will be held from 8 to 11 May 2014 at the Helexpo Exhibition Centre. Israel will be the Guest of Honour for 2014, while the cultural programme will also include a thematic exhibition entitled “Books about Europe”.
The Thessaloniki Book Fair invests in cultural policy establishing an open dialogue with the world book market and inviting publishers as well as literary figures to an encounter, interchange of ideas and cultural and commercial exchanges. Attracting over 80,000 visitors and 400 book professionals from Greece and abroad every year (publishers, writers, translators, literary agents, journalists, booksellers, librarians, institutions, bodies and organisations for the book) the TBF has established a dynamic presence at the cultural crossroads of Europe and the Balkans.
There will also be over 200 events open to bibliographers, featuring book presentations by authors from Greece and abroad, panel and round table discussions, mini conferences, new technologies, special children’s and teenagers’ corners and parallel cultural events held in and around the city.
