Revolutionary Struggle Admits Car Bomb Explosion

  • Written by

Revolutionary Struggle has admitted to the April 10th car bomb explosion, just outside the Bank of Greece.

The blast caused severe damages but no injuries occurred. The guerrilla group stated that the denotation, was in response to the nation's international bond markets return.

On Indymedia's anti-establishment website, the group claimed that the fire was ignited in protest at the nation's initial capital market reentry, and German Chancellor Angel Merkel's upcoming visit to Greece. Revolutionary Struggle's text coined Merkel as a "protagonist of the imposition of extreme neoliberal policies and austerity in all of Europe" and "the arch-terrorist".

The guerrillas demanded a "social revolution" to halt current austerity efforts and an armed struggle. However, they did not reveal future target locations. Since July 2012, self appointed Revolutionary Struggle head Nikos Maziotis and his partner Panayiota Roupa have been on the run, since their escape during pre-trial custody conditional leave.
