Georgiadis' Televised Book Sales Return
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Scarcely a day passed and former health minister Adonis Georgiadis returned to television sales of books. The New Democracy MP refused to speak directly about his replacement as health ministry, but allowed sentiment to show in between the lines.
“Whatever I say about the reshuffle, now, will be misconstrued, so I will say nothing,” he said on Kontra channel, where he appeared with brother Leonidas. “When I took over the post, I got a lot of congratulations, and I told everyone they should hold them until after I left the post. I stayed longer than average at a ministry. I am happy that since my resignation was announced, I have been inundated in congratulations. Emails, tweets, phone calls, in every way,” he said characteristically.
The former minister also answered those that criticized him for his book sales.
“One of the basest assaults I have endured from petty journalists of the left and Golden Dawn, is that I am a television book salesman, as if it's something to be ashamed of . I'm very proud opf my job. I first started when I was 15 at the Kifissia book fair. Ever since I have sold books and occasionally published, and I don't understand why only lawyers, doctors, and architects can become ministers and prime ministers, but not booksellers,” said Mr Georgiadis.
Celebrating his return to televised sales, the Georgiadis brothers offered a tablet along with any books customers would buy.
