Greece Holds Massive Amount of Illegally Driven Autos
The Greek Public Order and Citizen Protection Ministry sent a report to Parliament, that identified thousands of operational autos that are being driven without insurance and without proper driver's license testing (KTEO).
Former Public Order and Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Dendias signed a document June 3rd, which confirmed 10,925 issued tickets for not having a proper license, while 18,501 didn't hold insurance, in the first four months of 2014.
DIMAR MP Asiminia Xirotiri-Aikaterinari originally called for the statistics; the numbers reveal a serious driving safety problem, along with a massive state revenue loss. Halting these illegal practices is one of the most important current goals of the Deputy Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Ministry. An increase on related inspections has been issued.
