HEDNO Issues Blackout Warning
Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A. (HEDNO) warned today that if Public Power Corporation strikes, rolling blackouts may occur.
The Network issued a warning to restrict large power generating devices between 11:00 to 16:00 and 20:00 to 22:00. HEDNO also offered consumer recommendations regarding blackouts, that will be declared at regular intermissions. Independent Power Transmission System Operator S.A. will determine the blackout's length on the mainland; islands will be determined by HEDNO.
The company also advised to not travel in elevators during the strike, along with not keeping devices constantly plugged in. For patients using life-support systems powered by electricity, HEDNO instructed them to visit hospitals as soon as possible or to contact local customer support.
