Government Selects Defense Minister Avramopoulos as New Commissioner
The Greek government has selected Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos as the nation's commissioner for the European Commission.
According to ANA-MPA, a statement was released today: "following the 16th of July, 2014 European Council's decision, the government informed the new president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker through a letter that it nominates the Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos for the position of Commissioner in the new European Commission".
