Michalos Warns of Natural Gas Deficiencies
The President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry EVEA and the Union of Hellenic Chambers (KEE) Konstantinos Michalos, has stressed that current embargoes by Russia will have a negative result on Greek natural gas supplies, along with exports.
Michalos has called on the government to conduct national and European efforts to tackle the issues, as reported by To Vima. He stated that Greece relies on Russia for natural gas supplies and if they are halted or interrupted, would have drastic consequences on the nation.
The EVEA and KEE President believes that a plan of action needs to be created if the situation presents itself. Greece obtains 25% of its electrical power from natural gas. Michalos has also pressed the government to make good on its promise to return revenues to natural gas recipients, following a retroactive price decrease that was implemented by Gazprom and DEPA. Total patron returns equals approximately 90 million euros.
