The head of a local NGO on Wednesday referred to a “mistaken belief” by his group that an islet in the middle of the Evros (Maritsa) River – separating Greece from Turkey in the northeast Thrace province – was territory of the former.

France to relocate 750 asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors from Greece
Some 400 asylum seekers and 350 unaccompanied minors will be relocated from Greece to France, it was announced after a Monday meeting of Alternate Minister of Migration & Asylum Giorgos Koumoutsakos with French Ambassador to Greece Patrick Maisonnave.
