Firefighters fought an overnight battle with the flames in Anavyssos in order to cope with the fire that has been burning from around five in the afternoon of Monday, in a forest area in Agios Panteleimonas, on Skordi hill.

A new fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon on the island of Zakynthos, with active fronts now rising to three, making the work of firefighters even more difficult.

More than 100 hectares of pine forest have burned near the village of Orthonies in Zakynthos, in the northern part of the island, after a new fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon.
