Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus will make a joint statement on the importance of the migration situation in the eastern Mediterranean at the next meeting of the EU’s justice and home affairs council on October 7 and 8, Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry said.

A new era has dawned for Greece, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his address to the 74th United Nations General Assembly meeting on Friday, adding that although the country is moving away from the ten-year economic crisis, it is fully aware of the volatility of the region around it.

Greek officials met on Wednesday in Athens with a delegation of German specialists on issues of migration, to share experiences and find ways of collaborating.
