Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday met European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos and then chaired a meeting attended by the Commissioner and government ministers responsible for migration, including Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis, Alternate Citizen Protection Minister responsible for Migration Policy George Koumoutsakos and Minister for Shipping and Island Policy Yiannis Plakiotakis.

The visit of EU Commisioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos in Tallinn, Estonia, on Monday focused on migration and security.

Developments are occurring at great speed but the European Union is proceeding as slow as a turtle, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras charged early on Friday morning, following the conclusion of an EU Leaders Summit on the migrant and refugee issue in Brussels that began Thursday.
