Athens Holds Successful International ADHD Conference
The "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): an Enduring Challenge" conference recently took place in Athens and had over 300 people in attendance, with participants from all over the globe.
Leaders in the field participated in the two-day conference from both Greece and abroad. ADHD Hellas, under the auspices of the Athens Medical School, the City of Athens and the World Federation for Mental Health, orchestrated the event.
The U.S. Embassy in Athens organized Dr. Thomas Brown's of Yale University, attendance. Dr. Brown is a distinguished clinical psychologist and psychiatry professor at the Ivy League school. He also serves as the Yale Clinic for Attention and Related Disorders Directors and has written award-winning books on the subject of ADHD.
The "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): an Enduring Challenge" program offered contemporary research and findings to its attendees that included mental health professionals, teachers, patients, and relatives. Educational workshops were a vital element of the event. Athens Mayor George Kaminis offered intimate opening remarks at the conference, that revealed his own personal challenges with ADHD.
