- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Greece will be present for the first time at the World Junior Surfing Championship, organized by the International Surfing Federation (ISA), which will take place from May 27 to June 5, in El Salvador.
Our country will be represented by the Greek athlete Mateo Christodulu, 14 years old, who is already in El Salvador, and between training and preparation, took the time to answer a few questions. Good luck Mateo!
The Greek surfing website www.lovesurfing.gr, interviewed Mateo Christodulu, who lives in Peru and is proud to be able to offer joy to "Papú and Yiayia". He tells of how he learned to bodysurf as a toddler and how his arduous training schedule works out on a daily basis. Mateo admires: "Kelly Slater, the GOAT, because at his 50 years he is still competing at the highest level of surfing and has given so much to the surfing community. Other is Michael Jordan, because with his attitude and determination he was able to bring out the most of a whole team and make them the best team of all times."
You can read his interview here in Greek and English.
