Zach Galifianakis to Star in Jonathan Glazer’s New Series “The Audacity”
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Zach Galifianakis is set to lead the cast of AMC and AMC+’s upcoming drama series The Audacity, created by acclaimed filmmaker Jonathan Glazer. Set in the heart of Silicon Valley, the show explores the world of tech moguls, rising startup founders, and visionary innovators. It also stars Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Lucy Punch, and Paul Adelstein.
The Audacity delves into themes like ambition, personal and professional entanglements, the small financial sparks that fuel innovation, and the relentless pursuit of the next big idea. Central to the series is the growing influence of artificial intelligence and the rapid pace of technological advancement on modern life.
Galifianakis will play Carl Bardolph — a reclusive, disillusioned, and extremely wealthy former tech pioneer who has stepped away from the spotlight. But his isolation begins to crack with the arrival of Duncan, a character played by Billy Magnussen, drawing him slowly back into the fold.
The cast also includes Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, and Everett Blunck. Jonathan Glazer not only penned the script and serves as executive producer, but he will also act as showrunner. The first season will consist of eight episodes and is expected to premiere next year.
This marks Galifianakis’s first collaboration with AMC, following his recent appearance in Season 4 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, as reported by Deadline.
