- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The reaction of Greek-American journalist Trish Crhistakis was modest, awkward and laconic after the publicity she received thanks to the photo she posted on social media from the last Miami Heat game in this year's NBA playoffs.
Despite the fact that her post alone has surpassed 10 million views and 114,000 likes, Christakis was content to thank everyone who singled her out with a few words.
"Thank you for your love," the Greek-American journalist wrote, making an appointment for Florida Panthers hockey games.
Who is Trish Christakis?
CBS Greek-American reporter Trish Christakis has attracted the interest of the Greek and not only public for a few years now after some posts on social media.
The 32-year-old presenter first stood out when she was next to the court during the Miami Heat game against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023.
Christakis has been in charge of reporting on the Miami Heat games in the NBA, the Miami Dolphins in the NFL, and Inter Miami in MLS for a few years now.
At the same time, she also covers the great NCAA college basketball tournament "March Madness", the Stanley Cup, and was also present at the NBA finals.
She grew up in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in journalism.
However, her Greek roots have also made her stand out with her knowledge of soccer, which she loves. The 32-year-old loves to play soccer in her free time and jokes that she is a "wannabe striker for the US National Team".
She had thoroughly enjoyed her meeting with Lionel Messi in Miami, whom she has described as the greatest soccer player of all time.
Christakis had stated that "Playing soccer my whole life and becoming a professional has always been my biggest dream. But getting paid to cover the GOAT's career is more than I could have imagined".
According to CBS, Trish also enjoys working out, being in the water, and volunteering at animal shelters.
In a post, the well-known Florida-based journalist revealed that she supports Olympiacos among the Greek teams.
