With the Lincoln Memorial as a backdrop, on the 9th floor of Ned's Club, the Greek community welcomed Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Washington.
The event was hosted by House Speaker Mike Johnson, and hosted by businessman John Koudounis of Calamos Investments.
Politicians from both sides of the Atlantic were in attendance, including Gus Bilirakis, Nicole Malliotaki and Jimmy Patronis, Vassilis Kikilias and Alexandra Papadopoulou. Also present was new Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is packing her bags for Athens.

The Prime Minister's son, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, who has completed his studies and works in Washington, also responded to the invitation.
The guests warmly welcomed the head of Orthodoxy, who will be in New York from today.
