Businessman and philanthropist Steve Kontos has been awarded the Medal of Freedom by the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware. This is the Federation’s highest award and one of the most prestigious awards presented in the Philadelphia tri-state area.
The Hellenic Initiative (THI) has announced the appointment of George M. Kailis, former founder and Managing Director of the Kailis Bros Trading Division, to its Board of Directors, reinforcing the organization’s international leadership network within the Greek diaspora.
With the participation of thousands of Hellenes, dozens of clubs, communities, schools and organizations from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Canada and Greece, the great Greek parade for the 205th anniversary of Greek Independence took place on Sunday, April 26th on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, confirming for yet another year the symbolic character of the top event of Greeks abroad.
