Paralympic Cyclist Giorgos Sifakis Passes
Paralympic hand cyclist Giorgos Sifakis passed away today, due to complications from an accident last month.
The 40-year-old athlete died at Iraklio hospital in Crete, after undergoing multiple surgeries. On May 16th, Sifakis was practicing for a race on a highway near Iraklio, when a car struck him.
The cyclist was injured seventeen years ago, due to a motorcycle accident that left him partially paralyzed. On Saturday, he was scheduled to compete in Crete's Keri Mountain Bike Trophy competition.
