Greece Experiences Increased Cruise Ship Arrivals
This morning, Louis Cristal cruise ship docked at Thessaloniki's port, bringing 500 travelers to the Greek city.
The cruise liner will set sail for Lavrio, Attica later today. The arrival of the vessel marks the second one this season, at the Thessaloniki port. More international ocean liners are predicted to arrive in May and in the following months of summer.
Summer 2014 is envisioned to bring twenty-five cruise ships to the region compared to only eighteen last year, and eleven in 2012. In 2013, cruise ship passengers totaled 14,700; a significant increase from 2012's 8,014 travelers. This promising statistic is a concrete asset to the Hellenic tourism industry.
