According to a source who spoke to the magazine, it was a plan "to get Kimberly out of the spotlight."

"Bettina wants to get Kimberly out of the spotlight. They're trying to send her abroad. "They were waiting for the election to pass so they wouldn't hurt Donald Trump," the source said.
