1 World Trade Center Skydivers' Court No-Show

  • Written by

Four daredevil skydivers have until 5 p.m. this evening to turn themselves in, after not appearing in court earlier today.

They are being called to the courtroom for being caught in a 1 World Trade Center stunt performed last September.

The Port Authority and Manhattan's District Attorney's office have not yet commented on the escapade.  However, one of the stuntman's attorneys stated that the DA plans to hold the men on charges that most probably will involve reckless endangerment and burglary.

Six months ago three men are reported to have creeped into a partially built high-rise through a fence's hole.  The skydivers then parachuted over 1,300 feet from the top of the structure, with another man serving as surveillance.

This antic's consequences follow last week's debacle of a teenage boy trespassing onto the top of 1 World Trade Center.  His fate remains to be seen.
