9/11 Memorial Museum Opens its Doors May 21st

  • Written by

The highly-anticipated 9/11 Memorial Museum dedicated to September 11th victims will open its doors on May 21st, it was announced today.

Prior to its opening a 6-day honorary duration and a May 15th ceremony will be conducted, as declared by the Museum's President Joe Daniels.  He stated: "It will be a tremendous privilege to walk the completed 9/11 Memorial Museum for the first time with those who are a part of this defining period of our nation's history".

During the Museum's time devoted to the sacrificed, the memorial will be open 24 hours a day for September 11th family members and recovery and rescue workers.  As Daniels explained, "If it's 4 in the morning or 3 in the morning or 8 at night, whatever it is, we're going to be open to make sure they can come in before the public sets foot here...We want to make sure that our doors are open for them to see it before the public does".

Normal business hours will be everyday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with an expected entrance fee of $24.00.  This figure at the privately funded 9/11 Memorial Museum has left many relatives frustrated at its costly ticket price.
