Queens Barber Stabs Customer to Death

  • Written by

A rift between a Queens barber and customer over a set of headphones has resulted in murder.

Barber Cederic Simpson, 34, has been charged with murder for supposedly stabbing his customer Carl Richardson to death. The 19-year-old Nassau Community College student had arrived at the Laurelton barbershop a little earlier than 2:00 p.m. to settle a debt.

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton describes the crime: "Around the issue of a set of earphones or a bluetooth type of device between the owner and one of his customers...During that dispute, a pair of scissors was used as a weapon that resulted in the death of one of the two individuals involved in that dispute".

Richardson was selling the headphones to save up for a car. Simpson has been taken into police custody. The Daily News spoke to Richardson's father, who described just how senseless and trivial the death of his son is, over a measly pair of $40.00 headphones.
