Father's Day Council Honors Chris Christie

  • Written by

Today, The National Father's Day Council confirmed their 2014 "Father of the Year" honoree, as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

The National Father's Day/Mother's Day Council President and CEO Dan Orwig commented, "We are thrilled that Governor Christie has generously agreed to participate in our efforts to support Save the Children's U.S. Programs". The 2014 Father of the Year Award Luncheon will be held on June 4th at the New York Hilton, beginning at 11:15 a.m. All proceeds will go to Save the Children's U.S. Programs.

The New Jersey Governor is often seen with his four children and consistently references his fatherhood in public speeches. His kids, who range in 10 years-old to 20-years old, have frequently been by his side throughout his 5-year posting. President Bill Clinton, New York Yankees baller Jorge Posada and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg have previously received the "Father of the Year" award.
