Concerns Grow Over Vice President Biden's Trip, Cyprus
Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides met with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Thursday, to discuss his scheduled visit to Cyprus, on May 21st through 23rd.
Sullivan assured the island that the American administration is fully aware of its challenges, and is not planning to complicate issues between the two territories. Greek-American and Cypriot leaders are concerned with Biden's scheduled meeting with Turkish Cypriot head Dervis Eroglu.
Kasoulides and Sullivan held a one-hour meeting, where they discussed his Cypriot travel itinerary. The Vice President is also predicted to announce confidence building measures for the nation, during his trip.
Tomorrow, the U.S. National Security Advisor has plans to meet Greek-American leaders and U.S. Archbishop Demetrios at the White House. The meeting will center on Biden's Turkish Cypriot activities, during his visit to the island.
