Argentina Dispatches New UN Cypriot Peacekeeping Team
The Argentinian Defense Ministry has announced its plans to offer a fresh military body to Cyprus, under United Nations peacekeeping forces.
The Defense Ministry described, "This mission of our Armed Forces is another demonstration of the country's commitment to global peace". The Argentinian military soldiers will be united with Paraguayan and Chilean military staff to assist the island's peacekeeping sector.
Argentina began backing Cypriot UN peacekeeping activities in 1993. The United Nations created its Cyprus peacekeeping assignment in 1964, to combat additional escalades between the two territories.
