Cypriot Unemployment Drops 5.9%
The Cypriot unemployment rate decreased 5.9% last month, in comparison to last year's same timeframe, as confirmed by the nation's Statistical Service.
The District Labour Office had a total of 45,583 registered unemployed individuals as of August. August 2013 held an additional 2,868 out-of-work citizens, mostly concerning trade, manufacturing, education, construction, technical, scientific, insurance and financial sectors.
However, during the same time period the level of unemployment increased in the sectors of food service, hospitality and public administration, and newly employed labour market workers.
