Belgian King & Queen Vacation on Cyprus
The King and Queen of Belgium are currently vacationing for one week in Paphos, Cyprus.
King Phillipe and Queen Mathilde are residing in the five-star Anassa hotel and arrived on Sunday to Cyprus. They were received at the airport by Belgium's Ambassador to Cyprus, in addition to other diplomatic delegates.
The trip is a private visit, while the royals are predicted to tour local archaeological sites and various regions of the island. The couple is also expected to meet with official representatives and participate in various ceremonial affairs.
The 54-year-old King and 41-year-old Queen have been married since 1999 and have four children. King Phillipe succeeded his father, King Albert II on July 21, 2013, while their oldest daughter Princess Elisabeth is next in line for the throne.
