Agony for fate of Cyprus to Beirut private plane flight

The search for a twin-engined Diamond DA42 airplane ended in tragedy, since, as it turned out, it crashed, Wednesday evening, near Larnaca.

According to information so far, when the aircraft disappeared from Nicosia FIR radar, at the time was located 80 kilometers south-east of the city of Larnaca.

There are grave fears for the pilot and co-pilot. However, in his last communication with the control tower, the pilot reported that there was a problem, but which reportedly considered manageable.

In a latest development, the search team launched immediately by Cypriot, Israeli, and Lebanese armed forces, including helicopters and C-130 transports that scoured the area have already spotted white flotsam that could be from the ill-fated aircraft.

Coincidentally, the Israeli and Cypriot armed forces are conducting joint military drills in the area, as is the Russian Navy, while at the same time, the Turkish Navy, whose owners have never signed the Law of the Sea Treaty, has also let loose a flotilla of a research vessel with two support ships, conducting soundings within the Republic of Cyprus EEZ, something which is a flagrant disregard of all international regulations. The ships are shadowed by Turkish warships that are staying clear of the Cypriot EEZ.

The fated airplane passed over the overlapping zones, of the research vessel, and the two different maneuver areas.
