  • Written by

Montréal's Museum of Archaeology and History, Pointe-à-Callière, is debuting the biggest exhibit on Ancient Greece ever in North America on Friday, December 12th.

The exhibition is titled, "The Greeks – Agamemnon to Alexander the Great" and covers more than 5,000 years of Hellenic culture and history. As the Museum states on its website of the exhibit, "...takes visitors on an exceptional and fascinating journey back to the origins of the cradle of Western civilization, its heritage and the traces it has left in the hearts and minds of the Greek people."

After wrapping up at Pointe-à-Callière, the exhibition will then open at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, The Field Museum in Chicago and the National Geographic Museum in Washington. It offers over 500 Hellenic heirlooms from 21 Greek museums, and has been organized by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.
