President Anastasiades Plans Cyprus Return Shortly
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades will most likely return to Cyprus by this Sunday, after undergoing successful open heart surgery in New York City.
Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides stated to CNA, "The President will probably be in Cyprus by Sunday", after being queried on the President's return date.
The President was released by Manhattan's Mount Sinai hospital this past Sunday. While recovering, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden visited Anastasiades in the hospital, along with other high-level dignitaries.
After his operation, President Anastasiades communicated his "deep gratitute" to his operating heart surgeon Dr. David Adams along with his medical staff, concerning their care regarding his tricuspid and mitral heart valve surgery, that he underwent on December 2nd, according to Parikiaki.
