Germanwings airliner crashes in southern France

An Airbus A320 airliner operated by Lufthansa budget airline subsidiary Germanwings crashed in southern France on Tuesday en route from Barcelona to Duesseldorf, police and aviation officials said.
Local La Provence newspaper noted that the Airbus A320 was carrying 142 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew, citing aviation officials.
Local aviation officials have confirmed that all aboard perished. rescue crews have a tough time getting to the wreckage due to the mountanous area where it crashed, at an altitude of over 2 kilometers. French authoritis have established a makeshidt field morgue near the site.
Germanwings and Lufthansa were not immediately available for a comment. Airbus had no immediate comment.
