Cypriot Pride Festival Kicks Off May 28th
On May 28th, the Cypriot Pride Festival, "Free to Be!" is set to kick off.
This marks the nation's second LGBTI celebration, with a Pride Parade being held in Nicosia on June 6th, according to a NGO and reported by Parikiaki. During last year's Cypriot Pride Parade, over 4,500 participants supported the march, that included former President of the Republic George Vassiliou, EC representatives, and parliamentary party delegates, among others.
This year's "Free to Be!" festival is supported by the Nicosia Municipality, as it did last year, under the auspices of Mayor Constantinos Yiorkatzis. Mayor Yiorkatzis stated that all political endeavors should treat every citizen equal and abolish racism in any form.
