Cyprus Experiences Tourism Revenue Rise

Tourism gains on Cyprus rose significantly this past March by 15%, in comparison to the same month in 2014.

The Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus revealed that revenues totaled 65 million euros in March, while last March's equaled 56.5 million euros, as reported by Parikiaki.

Between January to March, an approximated 124.3 million euros was generated; 118.5 million euros were secured the same period last year. In January and February 2015, tourism profits suffered a 4.5% decrease, compared to 2014's January and February.

The average time period that visitors resided on the island last year in March was 10.5 days, and this March finalized at 9.6 days. The largest per capita spenders this year in March hailed from Norway, and totaled 1,290.84 euros. Swiss citizens' per capita spending equaled 1,031.02 euros, while U.S. natives held 991.0 euros.
