British Warplane Detaches Two Missiles On Cyprus
Two missiles fell off of a warplane during a military practice, as it was returning to a British base on Cyprus.
No fatalities occurred according to base officials, when the Brimstone weapons detached from a Tornado GRF, as it landed at RAF Akrotiri, just outside Limassol.
British spokesperson Kristian Gray described, "While landing on the runway from an operational flight, two Brimstone missiles detached from the GR4 aircraft. They did not detonate and no injuries happened."
Gray added, "To the best of our knowledge this is the first time this has happened, the causes are still not clear and are under investigation." Akrotiri serves as one of Britain's biggest foreign airfields, as a military mechanism against Islamic State jihadist marks in Iraq.
