August Brings Collaborative EU S&R Practices On Cyprus
Cyprus and various other EU nations including France and Germany, are planning collective Search and Rescue (S&R) practices this month on the island.
The drills will occur within the Republic of Cyprus' S&R territory. The Cypriot Ministry of Defense announced that the mission's goal is to cultivate the degree of readiness, concerning refugee evacuations in the Middle East and air mishaps.
An August 8th practice concluded that encompassed German warships, while a French Navy frigate practice will be held on August 24th.
The Search and Rescue (S&R) practices that are occurring on Cyprus in August are executed under the Cypriot National Plan titled, "Nearchos." They are in complete coordination with Larnaca's Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC).
