Phidias: The Vice President of the European Parliament accuses the Cypriot MEP of a misleading video - "Learn the rules"
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A video by the MEP, Phidias Panayiotou, through which he appears to question the voting procedures within the European Parliament, caused a reaction. However, his positions did not go unnoticed, with the Vice President of the European Parliament, Nicu Ștefănuță, posting a video refuting the Cypriot.
Specifically, Phidias Panayiotou claims that errors are often observed in the counting of votes in the European Parliament, especially when they are not done electronically. In fact, in his video he refers to Nicu Ștefănuță by name, accusing him of an error in a specific vote, which was done by hand and his refusal to recheck. Phidias concludes that every vote should be done electronically.
Nicu Ștefănuță reacted immediately to Phidias’ allegations and with his own video, refutes what he accuses him of, which he characterizes as false allegations. He even states that Phidias presents two separate votes as one continuous process. He concludes by calling on politicians to know the regulations, leaving clear points of advice for Phidias. “If you want to be a politician, learn the rules properly. "If you don't do it, you're not inspiring or informing people, you're just confusing them," he says characteristically.
