Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides has stated that next week's discussions regarding the reunification of the island, symbolize concrete efforts undertaken by both territories.

Kasoulides commented, "We are entering the second phase of talks", and further described that the South aims to responsibly and willfully discuss advancements.

The Minister of Finance added, "I think that the President of the Republic will let UN Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman know what we wish for and will then travel to Berlin where he will hold a very important meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel".

The Greek Cypriot premier believes that, "These developments, I believe, will signal a serious effort which logically follows after the joint declaration of February 11", regarding President Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu.

The initial period of discussions will conduct a screening progress, that will state each side's stance. Starting May 6th, Kasoulides confirmed that steady developments will occur. Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot talks are scheduled to start next Tuesday.
