Cypriot President Anastasiades Attends "Shipping Metropolis" Luncheon
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades is conducting an official visit to Germany. He is currently in Hamburg to meet its Senate President, Mayor Olaf Scholz.
Anastasiades is scheduled to participate in a "Shipping Metropolis" luncheon today, presented by the Cyprus Shipping Chamber with premier German shipowners in attendance. Germany has remained Cyprus' biggest shipping partner for many years.
As reported by news portal Parikiaki, Central Bank's ship management figures determined, that German shipowners have provided 265 million euros out of a total of 402 million euros in total generated revenue, over the first six months of 2013.
Cypriot ship management turnover has risen to 4.9%, because of the economy's downfall. 82% of services were granted to foreign flagged vessels. However, Cypriot flagged ships doubled to 18% in the first six months of 2013, compared to 9% in the last six months of 2012.
