"Justice for Cyprus" Event Held July 15th-17th, D.C.
The "Justice for Cyprus" (PSEKA) conference will take place in Washington, D.C. on July 15th to the 17th, where U.S. residing Cypriots will meet with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry.
The event comes right before the 40th anniversary since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, that occurred on July 20, 1974. It will be held at the White House and the State Department.
PSEKA President Philip Christopher called on the American government: "...must realize that Turkey has been slipping towards Islamic fundamentalism", as reported by Parikiaki. He also added that Turkey has no sanctions mandated against its illegal acts on the island.
Over 100 participants are expected to attend the conference, who will be addressed by the White House and State Department, concerning the U.S. stance on the Cyprus divide. 50 U.S. Senate and Parliament members will also be present.
