Cypriot Internal Minister Comments on Human Trafficking & Migration
During the Informal Meeting of the EU Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs being held in Milan, Cypriot Internal Minister Socratis Hasikos discussed the urgency of fighting against human trafficking, according to international reports.
As stated by Parikiaki, Hasikos commented, "In this context, we agree with the initiative to create a comprehensive plan to combat illegal trafficking that will be prepared by the Commission".
The Internal Minister also commented on migration issues and referred to the recent tragedy off of Sicily's coast, "We once again underline the need for a decisive and common treatment based on the global approach to migration, and the principle of solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility".
