EC President Elect Juncker Comments on Upcoming Athenian Trip
On Monday, European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Juncker is scheduled to arrive in Athens. Juncker is set to meet with Greece's Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, as confirmed by the EC today.
The European President-elect stated of his trip to the capital, "My priority as Commission president is jobs, growth and investment and I am pleased to be going to Greece to discuss these priorities with my friend and colleague Prime Minister Antonis Samaras", as reported by Kathimerini.
Juncker's travels to Greece marks his first since in his new post as the EC's president-elect. He commented, "I want to send a message of hope and optimism by recognizing the efforts of the Greek people and the Greek government in reforming their country".
