Venizelos Pens Greece & Argentina Comparative Article
Government Vice President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos penned an article yesterday on his website, stating his belief that the only Greek debt solution is "a national negotiation in a spirit of unity and consent", as reported by ANA-MPA.
Venizelos further commented, "Everything else leads to either complete withdrawal, or catastrophe for no reason and after so many sacrifices".
The Government Vice President was triggered by Argentina's financial turmoil, when writing his own column, and concluded that there are multiple and major contrasts between the nation and Greece.
Venizelos referenced how markets are confident in Greek debt's viability, as a result of international investors acting in the country's recent two bond sales.
Regarding the Argentinian example, "stands to remind us of the boundaries to unilateral actions related to the management of any country's public debt...the importance of participating in a strong regional union, just like the European Union and especially the euro-zone".
