Cypriot Underprivileged Pupils Amount to 12%
Yesterday, Cypriot Education Minister Costas Kadis announced that 12% of primary and secondary students attain free food through the education system, which makes up 13,317 pupils.
The Education Minister's comments followed a nutritional meeting concerning underprivileged children, according to Parikiaki. He confirmed that the amount of disadvantaged kids is a severely high figure and is an issue of much concern.
Kadis predicted that this year's figure will be higher, but won't be determined until the start of the school year. He described the issue's delicacy and how the Ministry offers aid in a tactful and successful manner.
The Education Minister stated, "This is why it is necessary to collaborate and coordinate with all schools, as well as parent associations and school boards, and we want all those players with us this year".
Kadis further commented, "This is a collective effort that involves many organisations and we want the whole effort to be carried out with confidentiality and discretion so that the children are supported this year too".
