The Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC) has launched a petition to tell U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to “Stand with Greece” as the nation faces the continuing threats from Turkey which has driven thousands of refugees to Greece’s border.

A statement issued by the US National Security Council (NSC) leaves the impression that once again, the "pillars" of shaping the country's foreign policy are not fully aligned with the burning issue of dealing with Turkey, in particular regarding its - occupational - presence in Syrian territory, with various pretexts.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Greeks Abroad Kostas Vlasis will meet Archbishop of America Elpidophoros and representatives of the Greek-American and academic communities during his visit to Washington and New York on February 3-9.
