Police break up drug party in Kalyvia - DJ cousin of Azerbaijan president arrested

The authorities had a huge success  in the raid on a drug party in Kalyvia, seizing large quantities of drugs, while arresting a well-known DJ, cousin of the president of Azerbaijan.

At the party held in a luxurious residence in Kalyvia, drugs and alcohol were in high demand.

The police made 13 arrests, three of whom were police officers who provided security services, while the organizer was a cousin of the president of Azerbaijan.

Who is Azeri DJ Mikaela

The Azeri DJ of the international jet set who was arrested as the organizer of the drug party in Kalyvia, is not a random person.

According to information from ERT, she is the cousin of Azerbaijani President Aliyev, lives in Great Britain and in 2021 was investigated and charged with money laundering worth hundreds of millions of pounds, along with her husband.

DJ Izzat Khanim Javadova uses Mikaela as her stage name because that is the name of her 22-year-old daughter. According to a report by occrp.org, the woman maintains a low profile in her country of origin, but not abroad.

How DJ Mikaela came under the spotlight of British and American authorities

She was raised in Russia, with a father who was a member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, and started playing music in 2015 at parties for the rich in Ibiza, Greece and Thailand, until she ended up organizing the “Mikaela and Friends” nights. However, in 2021, the 44-year-old found herself under the spotlight of British and American authorities for money laundering, amounting to $20,000,000 and £6,000,000.

According to the report, DJ Mikaela and her husband Suleyman Javadov came under the microscope of the authorities because they displayed incredible wealth on social media that was not justified.

Suleyman’s lies were what allegedly alerted the authorities. Specifically, his father served as Azerbaijan’s energy minister until 2023. When Suleyman opened an account at a British bank, he claimed that they had “just the same name” and that he “didn’t know the owner.” He allegedly told the police the same lies, until he was forced to retract them.

The couple is being investigated for laundering millions of dollars through the Azerbaijani Laundromat, a general-purpose financial vehicle used by the Azerbaijani elite to launder money abroad.
