"Our position on this matter is clear, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Greece are not in question," said a US State Department representative on Tuesday, regarding the release of Turkish maps depicting several Aegean islands as well as Crete as Turkish territory.

“This summer, as well, Greece is one of the most popular holiday destinations. We expect the highest level of demand ever. Crete in particular is heading for an unprecedented record. There is no tourism sector or destination to Greece that is not in demand at the moment," said Aage Dinhaupt, TUI's Communications Director, to AMNA news agency.

The Greek annual inflation rate rose to 12.1% in June from 11.3% in May, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
